After-hours IT cover for Adelaide businesses
Your business doesn't always stop at five o'clock, and neither should your IT support. Whether it's a server down on a Saturday, a security alert at midnight, or staff locked out before a Sunday deadline, after-hours cover means you have someone to call and the problem gets fixed instead of parked until Monday morning.

The short answer
After-hours cover is part of a WaTo contract that gives an Adelaide business someone to call on evenings, weekends and public holidays. WaTo Consulting fixes problems remotely first and on site when needed, and responds to security alerts on the systems we monitor, then sends a report the next day. Our monitoring runs around the clock, and the team works through overnight alerts each morning; after-hours response is for clients whose contract includes it.
What is after-hours cover?
After-hours cover means your contract includes help outside normal business hours: evenings, weekends and public holidays. There's always someone from the team around after hours, and with cover in place you've got a local number to call and someone who already knows your systems. It can be remote support, on-site if needed, and a response when our monitoring raises an alert overnight. Without after-hours cover, overnight alerts are worked through first thing the next morning.
What we cover
Evening & weekend support
Phone and remote help outside business hours from a real person who can actually fix things, not a voicemail.
Emergency on-site
If it can't be fixed remotely, we come to you, across metro Adelaide and regional SA.
Overnight alert response
Our monitoring watches your critical systems around the clock. With after-hours cover, an alert on a critical system gets a response that night instead of the next morning.
Server & network response
If a server goes down or your network drops out after hours, we're on it straight away.
Security incident response
Suspicious activity, ransomware alerts or a breach: with after-hours cover, you call us and we respond that night, not next business day.
Scheduled maintenance windows
Updates, patches and changes done outside business hours so your team isn't disrupted during the day.
Who it's for
- Businesses that operate outside 9-to-5, such as retail, hospitality, healthcare and logistics.
- Companies with staff working remotely or across different time zones.
- Anyone who's been burned by a weekend outage with no one to call.
- Organisations where downtime means lost revenue or compliance risk.
How it works
- We learn your setup. We document your systems, contacts and priorities so we're ready when the call comes.
- Pick your cover. Evenings only, weekends, public holidays or all of them. Your contract spells out exactly when you're covered.
- One number to call. When something goes wrong, you call us and get a real person, not a ticket queue.
- We fix it. Remote first, on-site if needed, with access to your systems already set up so there's no delay.
- A report the next day. You get a summary of what happened, what we did, and anything that needs follow-up.
Why WaTo for after-hours cover
- A real person answers, not a recorded message or offshore call centre.
- We already know your systems, so you're not explaining everything from scratch at midnight.
- Flexible cover that fits your business, not a one-size-fits-all contract.
- One local team for day and night, so you get continuity instead of handoffs between strangers.
- Adelaide owned since 2001, taking out-of-hours calls from businesses across SA and remotely Australia-wide.
After-hours cover questions
What hours does after-hours cover include?
It depends on what you need. We can cover evenings, weekends, public holidays or all of them, and we'll tailor it to when your business actually needs help. Your contract sets out exactly which hours are covered.
How quickly will someone respond?
Your contract sets the exact response times for after-hours calls. Our monitoring raises alerts around the clock, but we don't have people watching screens all night: there's always someone from the team around, and with after-hours cover, critical alerts and calls get a response that night. Without it, the team works through overnight alerts every morning and follows each one up.
Do we have to be on a managed IT plan?
It helps, because we already know your systems, but we can set up standalone after-hours cover if that's all you need.
Is there a call-out fee for on-site visits?
Unbooked after-hours work is charged at our urgent rate of $360 an hour unless your agreement sets a different rate. We'll spell out any after-hours rates in your agreement up front, so there are no surprise charges.
