IT takeover & documentation in Adelaide
For businesses that do not know exactly what they own, who has access or how their important technology is configured.

The short answer
If nobody is sure who controls the domain, cloud accounts or passwords, an IT takeover tracks down every account, subscription and device and moves anything in the wrong name back under business control. Based in Adelaide, WaTo Consulting deals with registrars, vendors and old providers, then delivers a handover pack covering systems, where passwords are kept, key contacts and renewal dates.
What does IT takeover & documentation involve?
We track down every account, domain, subscription and device the business relies on, then confirm each one is registered to the business and that someone still working there can get into it. Anything held in a former staff member's or old IT provider's name gets moved back under business control. You finish with a written handover pack covering the systems, where passwords are kept, key contacts and renewal dates.

Next-step plan
Identify immediate risks and practical work that can wait.
Who it is for
- A business whose previous IT provider has closed, retired or stopped returning calls.
- An owner who realises the domain name is registered to a staff member who left years ago.
- A family business where one person set everything up and is the only one who knows the passwords.
- A business that has just been bought and needs to know what technology came with it.
How it works
- We collect what you already know. Invoices, renewal emails, old notes and staff memories usually point to most of the domains, accounts and services in use.
- We confirm who controls each item. We log in, check the registered owner and admin contacts, and note anything we cannot get into.
- We bring access back to the business. Passwords move into a business password manager and ownership is transferred wherever it sits in the wrong name.
- We write it all down. You get the handover pack plus a short list of risks to fix now and work that can wait.
Why WaTo for IT takeover & documentation
- We deal with the previous provider, registrar or vendor for you when access has to be recovered.
- The handover pack is written for the owner, so it still makes sense if you change IT support again.
- Recovering a domain or admin account through Microsoft, Google or a registrar is slow paperwork, and we handle the back and forth.
- Adelaide owned since 2001, and someone actually picks up the phone.
IT takeover & documentation questions
What if our old IT provider will not hand over the passwords?
Most accounts can still be recovered through the registrar, Microsoft, Google or the vendor by proving the business owns them. It takes paperwork and some patience, and we manage that process. A polite request to the old provider comes first, and it often works.
How long does a takeover usually take?
For a small office, often a few weeks from start to a finished handover pack, depending on how many accounts need recovering. Most of the waiting is on third parties confirming ownership. Urgent risks, such as an admin account nobody can reach, get dealt with first.
Who keeps the handover pack once it is done?
The business does. We provide it in a format you can store securely and share with whoever supports you next, including us. Passwords stay in your password manager instead of in the document itself.
